Buckley Country Day School is an Independent , Coeducation al Day School providing Elementary Education to 330 students in grades toddler through eight. Buckley was founded in 1923 and opened the doors of its first building in Great Neck to a class of twenty-three children. In 1955, as the school's enrollment continued to increase, Buckley moved to its current location in the Village Of North Hills in Roslyn . It is operated on a Not-for-profit basis by an appointed twenty-two-member Board of Trustees . It is chartered by the Board Of Regents of the University Of The State Of New York . The school is accredited by the New York State Association Of Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association Of Independent Schools . THE CAMPUS Buckley resides on a 25-. There are also four . TRADITIONS There are a number of traditions that occur at Buckley. Every Play s and every year the 1st Graders perform '' The Nutcracker '' Ballet . There is an annual Fair in October which began in 1973. Athletics Red-Blue Field Day at the end of the year is where the school's two " Red " and " Blue " teams compete.
