Boscov's is an American Department Store that was founded by Solomon Boscov in 1911 . The first store was located in Reading, PA , and today 50 additional stores are spread throughout the Mid-Atlantic states of Pennsylvania , New Jersey , Maryland , New York , Delaware , and Virginia .

Boscov's is currently the largest Family owned department store in the United States, with yearly revenue of over $1 billion. This store competes with the prices and products of The Bon-Ton . In some retail markets, Boscov's now competes with J.C. Penney, Macy's and Sears. The stores feature merchandise not normally seen in department stores anymore, such as toys, greeting cards, and candy.

The current company chairman is Kenneth S. Lakin, upon the retirement of Albert R. Boscov .

Boscov's, along with Belk , is one of the last family owned department store chains in the United States. Many of the store still offers many of the traditional service departments that others have given up years ago such as an actual customer service desk, candy department, toy department, sporting goods, optical, travel bureau and eight stores include in-store restaurants called The Greenery.

Boscov's still operates two downtown department stores in Binghamton, NY and Wilkes-Barre, PA.
