He is also a substitute for the Committee On Foreign Affairs and vice-chair of the delegation to the EUCroatia Joint Parliamentary Committee.

He is one of the most popular Slovenian politicians and was considering running for the office of President Of Slovenia in the 2007 Presidential Elections .   • 1995: Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee

  • 1996-1997: Vice-President of the National Assembly

  • 1996-2000: Member of the Foreign Relations Committee, the Constitutional Commission and the Defence Committee

  • 2000-2004: President of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Constitutional Commission
