Bellingham is a place in the London Borough Of Lewisham . It is a triangular electorial ward consisting mainly of social/council housing build in the 1920’s on what was then farm land. Many houses have been bought by the tenants under the Right To Buy Scheme . However, the majority are still rented out to families by the London Borough Of Lewisham . Although Bellingham refers to an electoral ward, the road Bellingham Road extends into the Catford South ward and is not part of the Bellingham Estate . The Bellingham Estate is bordered to the east and west by railway lines running south from Catford . Along the south it is bordered by Southend Lane, the A2218 Main Road .
