Beccy Cole (born Rebecca Diane Thompson, October 27 , 1972 in Glenelg, South Australia ) is an Australian Country Music singer. She has released four albums, with ''Little Victories'' and ''Wild at Heart'' attaining Gold status. She has won seven Golden Guitar awards. She performed for Australian Army soldiers ('Diggers') in Iraq and as a result found the decision to entertain the troops at Christmas time lost her some fans. In response,she released a single, "Poster Girl", that expresses her support for the soldiers serving Australia around the world, and her pride in being Australian. The video for this song was the #1 video on the Country Music Channel in Australia . She was briefly married to Mick Albeck, and has a son (Ricky). She currently lives in New South Wales . AWARDS Cole won the Female Artist of the Year for 2006 at the annual Golden Guitar Country Music Awards held at the Tamworth Country Music Festival .See ''Kernaghan scoops country awards'' In 2007 she won 3 golden guitars at the 35th CMAA awards - Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year (for "Poster Girl"), and APRA Song of the Year (also for "Poster Girl").
