Bangarapet ( Kannada ಬಂಗಾರಪೇಟೆ )is a town in Kolar District in the India n State of Karnataka . It is the last railway junction in Karnataka before entering Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu . Bangarapet was originally called as Bowringpet, named after an officer working in the Kolar Gold Fields. This town came into existence as the connecting point for the traffic between the gold fields and Bangalore.

Bangarapet is bordered by both Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu

This town was famous in karnataka for rice trading. The popular languages spoken here are Kannada, Telugu ,Tamil,Urdu & Hindi.
