Ataraxia (Ἀταραξία) is a Greek term used by Pyrrho and Epicurus for freedom from worry or any other preoccupation, and for Epicurus to achieve Hêdonê , the great pleasure. For the Stoics , ataraxia was synonymous with the only true happiness possible for a person.
