BIOGRAPHY

Redman was trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School . She is the niece of actress Joyce Redman .

She took over from Alfred Molina in the 1990's comedy drama El C.I.D. , playing a new female lead in the series, and played Diana Dors in the 1999 TV movie ''The Blonde Bombshell''. In 2000 she played Deedee Dove in the feature film Sexy Beast , and most recently, she has starred in the TV Series '' New Tricks ''. In 2004 Amanda appeared in the BBC documentary Who Do You Think You Are?

Redman, was president of the .

She recently performed in Children's Party At The Palace as Cruella DeVil for Queen Elizabeth II's 80th Birthday .


PERSONAL LIFE

She has a daughter Emily (born 1987 ), also an actress, from her first and only marriage to the actor Robert Glenister from whom she is now divorced. She is also a supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. Redman is badly scarred on her upper left arm as a result of scalding herself with a pan of boiling soup when she was a teenager.
Her father Ronald died from a heart attack in December 1991.
