Alex Perry




After graduating from East Sydney Fashion Design Studio in 1984, Alex worked as a model agent representing some of Australia’s most beautiful women for some of the world’s most elite agencies.

In 1992 Alex opened his first atelier creating expensive gowns, jewelled corsets and sexy sheaths. Vogue Australia photographed these gowns that were to become the Alex Perry trademark signature in his first editorial shoot.

Perry relocated his salon in 1994 to Double Bay, Sydney where he built up his impressive clientele to include high profile celebrities, social identities and personalities. Elle Macpherson , Linda Evangelista and Claudia Schiffer lead the long list of 'Perry Girls' who had donned the designer
ball gowns and sensational red carpet eveningwear " http://www.fashionwindows.com/fashion_review/alex_perry/default.asp ". Most recently international Perry Girls Jennifer Lopez and Nelly Furtado both chose to perform on stage and walked the red carpet in Alex Perry gowns.

Alex Perry was a designer at the inaugural Mercedes Australian Fashion Week held in May 1995, and is the only designer to show each year since. Over the past eleven years the Alex Perry fashion shows evolved into what has been described as “the most glamorous show of the week”. Perry’s runway shows have featured supermodels such as Linda Evangelista , Megan Gale , Kate Fisher , Alyssa Sutherland , Nicole Trunfio and Lily Cole .

After being established as Australia’s premier Couturier, Alex Perry launched his first “ready to wear” collection in 1998. The Alex Perry experience is now accessible to a wider audience and currently available nationally at David Jones Department Store, capital city stores. The collection of special occasion pieces has been designed with dinner, cocktails, the races and red carpet moments in mind. Familiar Alex Perry Couture signatures of boned corsetry, hand ruching and sexy, feminine silhouettes are all-important elements of the ready-to-wear collection.

Alex Perry ready-to-wear is also available at selected boutiques internationally including United States , United Arab Emirates , Saudi Arabia , Indonesia and Hong Kong .

In May 2002, Alex Perry launched his Sydney salon at The Strand.

Alex Perry's debut accessories collection was launched in 2006 and is available at the Strand Arcade store. The collection features glamorous stilettos, jewelled clutch handbags and bijoux earrings for evening and bridal.

Alex is currently represented by Chic Media and was seen on: Network 7 “50 Years of Television – Red Carpet reportage”, Network 7 co-host “Melbourne Cup Fashions on the Field”, commentary of Prince Charles & Camilla’s Royal Wedding, co-host for Network 9 “Australian Fashion Awards”, co-host of Network 7’s “Ultimate Make Over”. Alex is also the only judge to appear in all 3 seasons of Foxtel’s highest rating Australian show “ Australia's Next Top Model ”.
