Al Jazeera Children's Channel is an all- Arabic Language Television channel marketed at children. The channel is also known as '''JCC'''; an Acronym leaving out the Arabic definite article ''al''. As an Edutainment channel, it seeks to promote Childhood and Adolescence Development by encouraging Learning and educating children in a fun way. Launched on September 9 2005 by the international television network Al Jazeera , the channel is targeted to children between the ages of three and fifteen. It is available in much of the Middle East and parts of Europe . It broadcasts 18.5 hours a day on weekdays and 19 hours on weekends, and advertises that it produces about 40% of its own programs, the highest proportion of any children's channel. To supplement its in-house produced content, JCC purchases programs internationally.eg. the Sandmännchen from Germany: {Link without Title} JCC also offers interactive content for children at its official website. The channel's headquarters are in the Education City on the outskirts of Doha , Qatar , and it has regional offices in Amman , Beirut , Cairo , Paris and Rabat . It has a staff of over 230 employees. The second wife of the Emir of Qatar, Shaikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned , was instrumental in the creation of the channel.
