Al Ahwaz ( with a majority of Arabs . the region is a part of Khuzistan , with its capital city of Ahvaz . several movements for independence have gained power, and are seeking independence. GEOGRAPHY located in south of Iran and on the East of Iraq . The territory is sandwiched between the Zagros Mountains on the North, which separates it from the rest of Iran and the Persian Gulf in the South, its area is around 375.000 km2 there are several rivers in Al-Ahwaz, the main river is Karun offering land irrigation. POLITICS Several movements seeking independence from Iran have been created, Violence, raids and negotiations have all been made with no solution for the Land coming near. ECONOMY Natural Resource like all Persian Gulf States the Land is rich with Oil , it is also rich with Natural Gas . Oil was first found i 1908 in a Masjid S, pipelines have linked the Oil Field to Abadan on the Persian Gulf for Export, Al-Ahwaz claims to have around 68 billion barrels of oil, producing 3.5 to 4 million barrels per day, and 9,500 million cubic meters of Natural gas per day. Farming Farming is considered the Main income of Al-Ahwazi people, and Karun river is the main source of irrigation, Dates , Wheat , Suger Cane and Cotton are the main Productions.
