Since then, Airspan has established presence in more than 90 countries and expanded its product lines, mostly by acquisitions and OEM agreements rather than true R&D. Such, in October 2002 it acquired the WiPLL product line from the Israeli branch of Marconi, in December 2004 it took over an Israeli softswitch and VoIP gear maker ArelNet, and in November 2005 it bought out RadioNet, a Finnish maker of WiFi systems.
