ACADEMY FANTASIA Academy Fantasia Thailand is a reality show held in Thailand. In many ways it is a singing contest, nevertheless, it is through popular vote. INFO It was created by the main television channel provider True Visions , formerly known as UBC , currently airing its fourth season. Academy Fantasia is a fanchise of La Academia , a popular reality TV show from Mexico. Academy Fantasia is the most popular singing competition in Thailand. The contestants are selected through the nationwide auditions. The auditions take place in main cities in every part of thailand to search for those who have dreams and desire to become superstars. Four judges will eliminate thousands of people down to top 100 then last twenty finalists. The contestants will be living in the same house with more than hundred of hidden cameras. Audiences can watch them 24 hours live on TV and online through the cameras that are located in the house. Each week the contestants are assigned individual songs and sometime group songs to perform on stage every Saturday until the last week of the show. The contestants will attend vocal voice class, dance class, and acting class to particularly practice the songs that they would perform on Saturdays. After each performances the commentators will comment on the performers. In the end of the concert, one contestant that receives the least amount of votes will have to leave the show. The audiences can vote for their favorite contestants through cell phones and land phones. It costs three bhat for each vote. The show usually on air 24 hours on true vision 20 and the concerts will be live on True Music channel and Modern 9 TV between 9:00 to 11:30 pm. The winners of the first four seasons are all male. The winners and the runner-ups will atomatically receive record deals with True record company. After the end of each seasons, there will be nationwide concert tour starring the top twelve finalists. Vit (V2) won the first season of Academy Fantasia. Top (V8) was the first contestant that left the show. The reason for his leaving was initially known as that he received the least votes, but the real reason revealed after a couple of weeks later during the season. He was eliminated by the show becasue he was already in work on his own album with another company. In the rules of the first season said that all the contestants must be unknown and hadn't had any deal with record companies. Top was disqualified on the second week of the show. All of the eleven contestants, except for Top, were bought by Grammy Record after the end of the season. Top six finalists received a record deal and they release individual albums on the same day. The rest of the contestants never have their own album. At the last concert after they annouced the winner, the formal host of the show annouced that there's going to be a second season of the show. Aof (V4) won the second season of Academy Fantasia. Season 3 3 July - 9 September 2006 (10 Weeks)
Tui (V12) won the third season of Academy Fantasia. This is the first season of Academy Fantasia where two girls, Apple and Cherry, count as one contestant. Apple and Cherry are identical twins and every week they perform duo songs and sometimes group songs with other contestants. Nat (V1) won the fourth season of Academy Fantasia. This is the first season of the show where top twenty audition finalists moved into the house. On the first week of the show, only four contestants that received the least amount of votes were eliminated off the show, all of which were female. They needed six female and six male contestants for the twelve finalists, therefore, another four male contestants were eliminated on the second week. On the following weeks, only one contestant will be eliminated.
