The 1959 British Grand Prix was a Formula One Motor Race held at the Aintree Circuit on 18 July 1959. It was the fifth race of the 1959 Formula One Season . The race was won by Australian Jack Brabham in a works Cooper . His team mate Bruce McLaren finished in third place. Splitting the Coopers was a British Racing Partnership -entered BRM in second place, driven by Stirling Moss , the best ever result for a BRP car.
