Wolves showed no complacency after their previous Wembley flop and took a 13th minute lead when Pye, who had been preferred to Wilshaw, headed in an inch-perfect Hancocks cross. Heroics by the Leicester goalkeeper kept Wolves out until almost half-time, when Pye collected the ball with his back to goal and turned to slam it home. Leicester brought the game to life in the 55th minute by courtesy of Griffiths, and within minutes believed they were level only for a narrow offside decision to rule it out. A stunning individual goal by Smyth made it 3-1 to end any worries for Wright's men. |
