Its corporate sponsor is presumably Xinjiang Guanghui Group, Ltd. (新疆广汇集团有限公司). In the 2004–2005 season, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers finished in third place in the North Division, but lost in the quarter-finals to the South Division's Jiangsu Dragons .
