It is unclear why these pseudonyms were chosen, however, they fit with the style of their work, being unconventional and somewhat non-sensical to those who do not personally know the two. A possible source of inspiration for the name "Winona Parkway" could come from a road of the same name in the pair's hometown, Sparta Township, New Jersey . Byrne's pseudonym is even more enigmatic, and was possibly chosen to represent a scholarly fascination with his major concentration, Mathematics - though it could equally well be the logical extension of another road in Sparta Township, New Jersey known as "Prof Quadrangle." Their comics began publication in the beginning of the 2005 fall semester, though for how long they have been producing comics is unknown. The Comics , which bear no official title, are individual pieces which are meant to stand on their own and have no story arc or specific theme, are printed in Monochrome , and are created using a mix of traditional and digital mediums. Winona Parkway is responsible for a majority of the design and rendering of the comics, while Professor Quadrangle lends inspiration and theme. Interestingly, the visual quality of the comics appears to be superior to any others published in "Funstuff." Each single comic has a unique title, and will contain one or more panels. As they are published in The Signal, a weekly publication, one new comic from Professor Quadrangle & Winona Parkway is produced per week.
