Windows Live Alerts is a service offered by Microsoft that notifies you via instant messaging (IM), e-mail, mobile, or a combination of these three based on your presence, with information that you have previously indicated you were interested in. Microsoft offers thousands of content publishers to select from. A sample alert could be in IM, that is on a breaking news story as delivered by the BBC, a Virgin Radio guest speaker alert delivered to a mobile, or an Amazon.com new book alert delivered to e-mail. |
