Whitehall Street-South Ferry is a station on the BMT Broadway Line . It is a three-track, two island platform station. This is the southern terminal for trains, while trains continue throught the Montague Street Tunnel into the Fourth Avenue Line in Brooklyn. During late nights, when the '''W''' does not operate and the '''R''' runs as a shuttle in Brooklyn only, the serves this station. The station is rather deep, as much of it goes under the Lexington Avenue Bowling Green Station . It is close by the Staten Island Ferry terminal. In 2007, a transfer to a new IRT South Ferry terminal (currently being constructed) will open. |
