The objective of establishing WIUT was to provide an international standard of Higher Education in Uzbekistan to enable citizens of Uzbekistan and other countries to obtain an internationally recognised Bachelor education in Business , Business Computing , Economics and Law , all validated by the University Of Westminster . (Adopted from WIUT official site) In the 2002–2003 academic year, students were studying in the Banking Academy in Tashkent. When the new building in the business centre of Tashkent city (12 Akhunbabayev Street) was finished in summer 2003, the university moved there. As of 2003 , the university has four PC laboratories and a library with nine computers. Three PC labs and the library have free internet access. One PC lab is used by Business Computing students only. In year 2005 the first graduation of BA in Business students was conducted. Plans for the creation of Postgraduate school are under consideration as well as plans of construction of separate building for postgraduate studies, because the capacity of old one is limited.
