GEOGRAPHY at West Logan]] West Logan is located at 37°52'10" North, 81°59'14" West (37.869557, -81.987282). According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 0.9 Km&2 (0.3 Mi&2 ). 0.9 km&2 (0.3 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 418 people, 186 households, and 124 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 474.7/km&2 (1,236.6/mi&2). There were 228 housing units at an average density of 258.9/km&2 (674.5/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.13% White , 1.67% African American , 0.72% Native American , 0.24% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.24% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 186 households out of which 21.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.7% were Married Couples living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 30.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.82. In the town the population was spread out with 20.6% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 24.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 85.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.4 males. The median income for a household in the town was $23,500, and the median income for a family was $30,833. Males had a median income of $28,125 versus $22,917 for females.
