Oil unemployment of 2002-2003, also called '''National Unemployment''' or '''General Strike'''. By the compatible sectors to president Hugo Chávez '''oil Sabotage''' "or" '''oil Blow''' "is denominated"; the opponents denominated "'''National Civic Unemployment'''".

It was a strike or unemployment of general and indefinite character against the government of Hugo Chávez, promoted mainly by the Fedecámaras employer's association and secundado by the workers of the state company Petroleums of Venezuela (PDVSA), the agglutinated parties of opposition in the Democratic Coordinating coalition, the union Confederation of Workers of Venezuela (CTV), diverse civil organizations and even deprived mass media of press, radio and television. Unemployment extended from December of 2002 to February of 2003 , being one of general strikes of greater duration of history.
