Information About

Unitarian Universalist Society Of Spain

The organization considers itself to inherit from a tradition of Liberal Religion in Spain. A key figure in historical Unitarian Universalism, Michael Servetus , was a Spaniard. Other Spanish historical figures such as the writer and liberal religious politician José María Blanco-White , a group of 19th century liberal-minded reformers called the Krausist s (because of their common interest in the work of German philosopher Karl Christian Friedrich Krause , creator of the concept of " Panentheism ") were Unitarians or were inspired by Unitarian leaders, such as William Ellery Channing and Theodore Parker . The Spanish Unitarian Universalists honour this tradition and want to deepen and renew it in our time.
