The Village of Turin is within the Town Of Turin . The village is located on New York State Route 26 near the south town line. HISTORY The village was previously called "Turin Four Corners." GEOGRAPHY Turin is located at 43°37'44" North, 75°24'33" West (43.628921, -75.409355). According to the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 2.6 Km&2 (1.0 Mi&2 ). None of the area is covered with water. Turin is west of the Black River . DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 263 people, 101 households, and 73 families residing in the village. The Population Density was 99.6/km&2 (257.2/mi&2). There were 134 housing units at an average density of 50.7/km&2 (131.1/mi&2). The racial makeup of the village was 99.24% White , 0.00% Black or African American , 0.38% Native American , 0.38% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 101 households out of which 30.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.5% were Married Couples living together, 15.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% were non-families. 23.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.07. In the village the population was spread out with 28.9% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 20.5% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.9 males. The median income for a household in the village was $36,250, and the median income for a family was $42,500. Males had a median income of $25,000 versus $22,500 for females.
