Tsaritsani counts 2,510 people (Census 2001), lies at the north part of the Prefecture, 40 km. far from Larissa.
It's a beautiful, traditionnal village at the foot of Mount Olympus, with many country churches of the Post Byzantine period. It is one of the biggest villages of the Prefecture that was at its peak in the 16th century. Its mansions are a quite remarkable sightseeing.

Worth seeing
  • The mansions and the tower-houses of the area;

  • The house of Constantinos Economou of the family Economy, famous scholar and priest;

  • The monastery of Aghios Dimitrios, built in the 16th century;

  • The monastery of Aghios Athanassios, built in the 17th century.


Nowadays it is famous for Brigata Rossa di Tsaritsani, Olympiacos supporters club.
