'Tsar' Oak – one of the mightiest trees of the Bialowieza Forest (circumference at 130cm from trunk's basis – 640cm, height 41m). The tree's volume was estimated at 75 cubic meters. It dried down in 1984 . For over 20 years it has been standing dead on the verge of the valley of Leśna Prawa river. Today the trunk is totally deprived of bark, some of the branches broke down and lay at the basis of the trunk. The age of this oak was estimated at 450-500 years. External links: |
