It is located near the Four Rivers Cultural Center , which houses the Meyer-McLean theater used by the college to present plays and other purposes. TVCC was founded in 1963. It currently serves approximately 6,000 student a year. The college offers two-year degrees and one-year certificates; many of the degrees are transferable to Oregon and Idaho public universities. TVCC is located in the great Pacific Northwest. It boasts some of the greatest hunting and fishing spots in the Pacific Northwest. One great fishing spot for crappie is Owyhee Resevoir just an hour and a half south of Ontario. Just Two hours north of Ontario is the Hells Canyon Recreational Area. Boating, Fishing and Camping are great there. Also approximately an hour and a half East is some great skiing at Bogus Basin Ski Area just above Boise, Idaho. TVCC is host to a wide variety of sports, for example; Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, and Baseball. Anyone of these sports will get you into shape. TVCC also has excellent weight and cardio rooms, with all the latest workout eqiupment. Wireless access for computers and other devices is available in various areas around the TVCC campus, including the Dorms, Barber Hall, Four Rivers Cultural Center, Workforce Training Center and the Library. All locations feature 802.11b wireless networking (commonly called Wi-Fi). This is a very nice option to have. The Computer Science department keeps up with the new up-to-date technology and the ways of the ever changing world. It allows those that would be computer scientists a fair opportuinty at gaining an education that would equal other colleges. TVCC also has some great academic programs. One of these programs is their skilled nursing care program. Those that graduate from this program go on to fullfilling careers in Nursing. |
