Traffic flow analysis is the study of Communication patterns. For example, at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 2 during a 24-hour period, 1000 cars travel on Route 1, but only 400 cars travel on Route 2. Then the timing of the traffic signal at that intersection should be adjusted accordingly so that the drivers on Route 1 have less of a delay than the drivers on Route 2. Also, pedestrians at that intersection take about 30 seconds to cross. Then the traffic signal is also adjusted according to that fact, permitting pedestrians, even those using wheel chairs, to have enough time to cross safely before the signal changes. |
