Some trade fairs are open to the public, while others can only be attended by company representatives (members of the trade) and members of the Press . There are currently over 2500 trade shows held every year in USA alone. Trade fairs often involve a considerable Marketing investment by participating companies. Costs include space rental, display design and construction, telecommunications and networking, travel, accommodations, promotional literature, and "give away" items.
