In the story, four Bradbury children are about to unlock the strange mysteries of their home, and in doing so, rid themselves of a cruel and troublesome stepfather, but something is growing and changing in the house. It is on the verge of something Cataclysmic and the children want their step father in it when it happens. The name Bradbury is a possible nod to famed sci fi author Ray Bradbury .
