PLOT Set on Thanksgiving day 1983, the film involves NYC student Marty Pascale (Hamilton)'s return to his family's suburban Washington D.C. mansion to introduce his fiancée, Leslie (Spelling), to the family--including his mother (Bujold), brother Anthony (Prinze), and twin sister Jackie (Posey), who prefers to be known as " Jackie-o ", due to her obsession with the former first lady. As the plot develops, we learn that as children Marty and Jackie had an Incestuous affair. While Jackie believes incest to be a beautiful, loving and completely natural act, Leslie does not share her view. Marty is torn between the taboo pleasure of being with his sister and the comforts of social normalcy. This is the source of great conflict between the characters, since Jackie wants to resume her romance with Marty, and bear his children. The climax of the film culminates in a passionate love scene between Jackie and Marty, which Leslie happens to witness. EXTERNAL LINK |
