Donor Controversy


The group famously refused to disclose its donors in the days preceding the November 2003 referendum, claiming that it was under no legal obligation to do so. In March of 2004 it was revealed that one of the larger backers of the organization was U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay , despite his public neutrality on the light rail issue.
