Information About

Television Interference (co-channel Reception)

This is caused by the signals from two different TV Transmitter s (operating on the same frequency) arriving at the aerial input of the TV. This can be caused by Tropospheric Ducting (also known as Tropospheric Scatter ) which occurs during High Pressure weather conditions. If it occurs every day then by getting a better antenna it can be eliminated or mitigated.

While Sporadic E Propagation is unlikely to occur at UHF, it is possible to observe this effect in VHF TV systems (band I) and VHF FM audio (band II). When these effects are wanted they are termed as TV-FM DX but here the same effect is being viewed as being bad.
