The competiton aim is simply to remove your opponent from the ring. The ring is a circle which is painted black, and has a white border around the edge. The circle is also raised from the ground. BEAM sumobots are fully autonomous and therefore they have to detect the edge of the ring themselves and avoid it, a well as detect and push out the opponent.
