GEOGRAPHY According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 81.0 Km&2 (31.3 Mi&2 ). 42.2 km&2 (16.3 mi&2) of it is land and 38.9 km&2 (15.0 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 47.97% water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census 2 of 2000, there were 904 people, 370 households, and 259 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 21.4/km&2 (55.5/mi&2). There were 555 housing units at an average density of 13.2/km&2 (34.1/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.89% White , 0.00% African American , 0.33% Native American , 0.22% Asian , 0.11% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.44% from two or more races. 0.33% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 370 households out of which 25.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were Married Couples living together, 4.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 23.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.85. In the town the population was spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 30.0% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 112.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.5 males. The median income for a household in the town was $51,250, and the median income for a family was $56,944. Males had a median income of $34,773 versus $25,000 for females.
