There is already a co-generation plant in Sumas. This proposal would add a second plant. This proposal is considered controversial because it burns natural gas to generate power and the resulting pollutants would drift up the valley, adding to pollution already generated by populations in Abbotsford BC and pollution drifting in from the Vancouver BC metro area. |
