Student Lifenet




Student LifeNet is a coalition of Pro-life students located throughout the United Kingdom .


HISTORY


In 1999 several Pro-Life students formed Student LifeNet, having been inspired by Feminists For Life , with the goal of finding practical solutions to unplanned pregnancy within the student environment. The Directress at that time was Sarah Macken .

Their first major campaign was launched in October 1999. It celebrated the birth of the six billionth human being, which was declared by the United Nations to have occurred on 12 October , 1999. Student LifeNet's activities included challenging pro-choice organizations like Planned Parenthood and Population Concern , as well as heckling Rt Hon Clare Short MP

Patrick Leahy became the director of Student LifeNet in May 2003 .


TODAY


Student LifeNet now produces Pro-Life literature, and campaigns frequently on and off University campusses. Their goals being to:

#To help secure the right to life of all and make the 'pro-life' philosophy the dominant viewpoint.
#To unite all students in opposition to the destruction of human life.
#To ensure there is a pro-life society/group in every university and secondary school in the United Kingdom.
#To ensure there is real help and support for pregnant students.
