Information About

Sting And Lex Luger

Sting and Lex Luger was a Professional Wrestling tag team that never took a "gimmick name" in World Championship Wrestling . It was comprised of Sting and Lex Luger .

HISTORY

Early days

Sting and Lex Luger first teamed up in 1988 after Luger left the The Four Horsemen . They won the NWA Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup Tournament and feuded with the Road Warriors over the NWA World Tag Team Championship . After this feud, the team split and Luger turned heel.

They teamed up again as part of the Dudes With Attitudes in World Championship Wrestling to battle The Four Horsemen in 1990 . They did not form a regular team again at this point and even feuded in 1991 when Ric Flair left WCW for the World Wrestling Federation and Luger turned heel. Sting won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Luger at SuperBrawl on February 29 , 1992 .

WCW

The next time they teamed was in August 1995 in WCW when Luger made a shocking return to '' WCW Monday Nitro ''. Sting was helping Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage in their feud with The Four Horsemen and the Dungeon Of Doom and Luger joined up. Luger bickered with Savage and Hogan and Sting always had to keep the peace. At WCW World War 3 on November 26 , Luger joined Jimmy Hart and turned heel when he attacked Hogan.

He continued his team with Sting and they won the WCW World Tag Team Championship on January 22 , 1996 when they defeated Harlem Heat . During their reign, Luger was a heel and Sting was a face. When they would enter the ring, Sting would slap hands with the fans and so would Luger, while Sting was watching that is. As soon as Sting would quit watching, Luger would keep his hands away from the fans as if he were disgusted by them.

This type of behavior continued in the ring too. Luger would cheat and Sting would not appreciate it. So Luger started cheating when Sting didn't know and that gave their opponents even more anger at them and Sting usually didn't know why.

During their reign, they feuded with Harlem Heat and the Road Warriors . They finally lost the titles on June 24 , 1996 to Harlem Heat when The Outsiders caused a distraction at ringside.

nWo

Their team ended in September 1996 when Luger believed that Sting joined the NWo . In reality, it was The NWo Sting and Sting soon turned his back on Luger.

They eventually made peace when Sting saved Luger from a gang attack by the nWo.

They both joined the NWo Wolf Pac in the summer of 1998 when the nWo split and teamed together occasionally. This was short-lived as the Wolf Pac fell apart due to injuries.

Final WCW Teaming Days

They teamed again in the spring of 1999 to feud with Team Madness and Bret Hart . Luger turned on Sting in November 1999 and they feuded but were back together again when the Millionaires Club was formed in 2000 to feud with the New Blood . When this angle fell apart, their team was finished in WCW.

Post WCW

In late 2002 , Luger and Sting briefly teamed together in World Wrestling All-Stars until Luger turned on him starting another feud over the WWA World Heavyweight Championship .
