The recreation area by the pass contains a ski resort. Stevens Pass ski area is on Cowboy Mountain and Big Chief Mountain. There are 10 chair lifts that span two sides of the mountain. Stevens Pass has a wide range of terrain, with a few easy runs, several moderately challenging runs, and a few double diamond runs. It is also crowded on the weekends as it is about 1.5 hours from the Greater Seattle Area . The Pacific Crest Trail also runs nearby. There is little to no on-mountain lodging, but lodging can be found on the west side of the mountain or in Leavenworth or Wenatchee on the east side of the mountain.
