The second USS ''Constellation'' ( NCC -1974) was the pathfinder of the ''Constellation'' Class launched sometime between 2280 and 2284 (before the ''Excelsior'' , registry NX-2000 in 2284). This ship was still in service in 2374 when it helped search for the USS ''Honshu'' (NCC-60205). It is assumed that this ship was named after the numerous vessels named ''Constellation'' in the United States Navy . |
