The station was located on a short spur line from Acton Town . It had originally been opened for goods trains on 15 May 1899 but passenger services were only introduced on 13 June 1905 , with the station located just to the west of the North London Railway 's South Acton Station . It initially had through services provided to Hounslow Barracks (now Hounslow West ). However, the line was relatively little used and soon became a one-car shuttle service between Acton Town and South Acton, which was terminated on 28 February 1959 . Nothing now remains of South Acton's District Line station, although the North London Line station of the same name continues to be well used. A few bridgeheads and sections of the old trackbed survive to indicate the route. if it was still open to passengers today]] EXTERNAL LINKS |
