Information About

South-east Busway, Brisbane

The South East Busway is a grade separated bus-only corridor running south from the Brisbane CBD to Eight Mile Plains , in South East Queensland . Service providers using the Busway operate under the TransLink system. The Busway was completed in 2001 and has stations at the following locations:

The Busway is connected at the southern end to the Springwood Bus Station by transit lanes on the Pacific Motorway (M1). The northern end crosses the Victoria Bridge and enters the CBD to connect with the Queen Street Bus Station and Adelaide Street bus mall.

New busways announced in the South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan And Program will run from the Royal Brisbane And Women's Hospital along Lutwyche and Gympie Roads to Chermside (the Northern Busway , connecting with the present Inner-Northern Busway ), between Capalaba and Brisbane via Carindale and Old Cleveland Road, crossing the South East Busway at Buranda (the Eastern Busway ) and the Boggo Road Busway to the University Of Queensland at St Lucia , via the Green Bridge . Additional busways may be constructed between Redcliffe and Petrie and in the southern and western parts of the city. Bus lanes and priority measures are in place or are planned for most major roads in greater Brisbane.

Transit lanes on the Pacific Motorway will enable better connections between the South East Busway, Springwood and Loganholme with additional stations in between at Underwood and Paradise Road, for the benefit of Logan City Bus Service passengers travelling to the city.

Passenger Information

Real Time Passenger Information is displayed at each of the busway stations. There are fixed LED signs suspended above the platforms at each busway station. These signs present four lines of real-time estimated bus departure times, and are driven by Brisbane City Council's RAPID system.
