The Social Chair is also responsible for educating chapter members about campus guidelines and procedures regarding Risk Management . It is the duty of the Social Chair to register all social events involving Alcohol with the appropriate College authorities. During these events, the Social Chair must remain sober and ensure that the alcohol is consumed by persons of legal age and in a responsible manner. Since social events on college campuses in the United States often involve fraternities and sororities, the Social Chair has the responsibility of creating a vibrant social atmosphere while complying with campus regulations. Should there be a violation of the campus' risk management policy, the social chair is subject to sanctions imposed by the college as well as the Greek organization itself.
