CAREER

In 1985 , before he'd decided on his name, Bullet rapped with a rapper called Evil Ed in Leighton. Following Bullet's move to Aylesbury, he hooked up with a friend of Ed's - a rapper called Mistima, with whom he performed an anti-drugs rap on Dave Pearce 's radio show. Bullet was a regular contributor to the show's regular telephone competition, where rappers would rap down the telephone to a beat played by Pearce about a topic chosen by the listeners. On one occasion, Bullet won the competition.

Silver Bullet's first recorded work followed his move to Aylesbury, where he became part of the group Triple Element, who released the tune ''What's Dat Sound?'' (Tam Tam, 1988). Having come to the attention of the label, they went on to release his seminal single ''Bring Forth the Guillotine'' (Tam Tam, 1989). Bullet's frenetic, hardcore delivery and the hook of a James Brown sample were an instant success and the single was twice reissued with remixes by Ben Chapman and Norman Cook . The single was immediately followed by ''20 Seconds to Comply'' (Tam Tam, 1989) which was just as popular, Bullet's frantic rapping this time put up against samples from the movie Robocop .

Those waiting for a follow up had to wait, as Silver Bullet's success brought him to the attention of Parlophone Records . He moved to them to release the simngle ''Undercover Anarchist'' (Parlophone Records, 1991 and the seminal album ''Bring Down the Walls: No Limits Squad Returns'' (Parlophone Records, 1991).
