Silver Bowl




To be played twice each year to culminate its spring and fall seasons, the Silver Bowl is the championship game of the ''Elite League'' of the Independent Flag Football League , a local 5-on-5 men's amateur flag football league based in Raleigh, North Carolina .

The first Silver Bowl was played on Saturday, April 22 , 2006 at Raleigh's Cedar Hills Park. The game's winner then went on to meet playoff qualifiers from the IFFL's ''Premiere League'' with the goal of reaching the organization's overall championship contest, the Grand Bowl .


SYMBOL OF VICTORY

Members of the Silver Bowl championship team receive custom-designed plaques commemorating their championship achievement, while the team's captain receives permanent possession of the Patrick A. Weiss Cup, named in honor of Capital Area Team Sports president.


SILVER BOWLS


Spring 2006

On April 22 , 2006 the Assassins became the first champions of the IFFL's Elite League, winning the first Silver Bowl championship by defeating the Youngsville 69'ers, 34-25. They would advance to meet the Dragons in the IFFL's Divisional Playoffs, where they would fall 28-27 to the eventual Grand Bowl IX champions.
