SLA was established in 1982 when eight sign language interpreters decided to pool their resources and formed a company in order to meet the specific needs of their clients, consumers and fellow interpreters. Janet L. Bailey, President & CEO, and one of the original founders, remembers: "We shared a dream to create a service company able to provide quality interpreting services in the most efficient way possible.
