Shahad is 60 km away from mumbai and is easily accessiable through the central (railway) line. This Shahad comes in Kasara Line, only 3 km from Kalyan. Once you reach Kalyan, the railway line divides into two directions. Once is towards Ambernath, Badlapur ... Karjat ... and Pune . The other line which goes to Shahad, Titwala, Asangaon...Kasara... and Nasik. This Sahad comes in Nasik route, next station from Kalyan. You can reach Shahad from Kalyan station via Autorikshaw also. Otherwise you can catch a share rikshaw which goes to Ulhasnagar No.1. One special thing in respect of Shahad is Shahad (East) is actually Ulhasnagar 1 (One) and Shahad (West) is Kalyan. Then you may thik where is Shahad ? Shahad is the middle area which includes a part of Kalyan and part of Ulhasnagar One. It is famous for its huge industrial complexs like Century Rayon which is built by the Birlas. It is a huge housing complex along with a beautiful Birla Mandir for the workers in the century rayon factory. Earlier this area was much polluted and now a days changing the scenario. Still this area can be classified as "developing area". Shahad is closed to the murbad village is still considered very green. The very rare incident of flood affected the Shahad area also in June 2005. The flood was terrific. In the recent past no one has seen flood like this in this area. |
