They should not be confused with Tanks - although the two are similar, as a rule AP-Guns are more lightly armoured, have no turrets, and do not have the pure combat power of a true tank.

VARIETIES

Self-propelled Artillery are conventional artillery guns belonging to batteries which supporting other forces by long-range bombardment

Assault Gun s are large-calibre artillery pieces, meant to support Infantry by direct fire with High Explosive ammunition

Tank Destroyer s are self-propelled antitank guns, mainly used in Defence and Withdrawal operations

Self-propelled Antiaircraft guns, for close support of military units ( Antiaircraft Missile s are usually longer-ranged)
