Information AboutScouser |
|
A Scouser is a person from Liverpool in the North West of England . The term can also be used to define people from the surrounding areas, who speak with a Scouse accent. Often stereotypically portrayed in popular humour as being thieves and " Scallies ", Scousers are also noted for their friendly nature and sense of humour. Certain common stereotypical images (such as those demonstrated in Harry Enfield 's "Scousers" sketches), in which they are seen to be sporting Afros and Moustaches , are controversial and generally seen as outdated, having usually derived in the 1980s from such fictional Scousers as Yosser Hughes and various Brookside cast members. The term is sometimes used to denote supporters of Liverpool F.C. , regardless of whether or not they geographically originated from the Merseyside area, although this too can be controversial.
