Scotland is a city located in Telfair County, Georgia . As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 300. GEOGRAPHY Scotland is located at 32°2'55" North, 82°49'5" West (32.048683, -82.818080). According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 3.7 Km&2 (1.4 Mi&2 ). 3.6 km&2 (1.4 mi&2) of it is land and 0.71% is water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 300 people, 111 households, and 81 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 82.7/km&2 (213.8/mi&2). There were 138 housing units at an average density of 38.1/km&2 (98.4/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 63.33% White , 36.67% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.00% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 111 households out of which 35.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.9% were Married Couples living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.0% were non-families. 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.70 and the average family size was 3.16.
